Thanks for taking the time to read the FAQ's page! I hope you've enjoyed what you've seen so far. Speak Carmenese has been around since early 1999, and hopefully keeps getting bigger and better. It started out as just a black screen with just the animated gif to the left along with a "coming soon" statement. Bit by bit it's grown into the webs largest Carmen Electra site. Please keep in mind that your webmistress, here, knows nothing about web design, so it can get a little disorganized.

Is Speak Carmenese officially connected with Carmen Electra in any way?

Speak Carmenese is NOT Carmen Electra's official site. This is purely a FANSITE. So far I've never been in direct contact with Carmen, but I've heard through the grapevine that she's seen the site and appreciates the support.

Does Carmen have a website of her own?

YES! Carmen recently opened her very own official site: www.carmenelectra.com. The content is very basic right now, but hopefully she'll get more into it.

Why did you choose a cheesy name like Speak Carmenese?

It's actually from a line in one of her songs, Fantasia Erotica. Even though your average visitor probably doesn't make that connection, I thought it seemed appropriate because I wanted this site to be more of a tribute to her attitude, using lots of quotes and soundbites. Click on her mouth to hear the line I'm refering to.

Why doesn't your site contain any nude pictures of Carmen?

I've made an agreement with my affiliates and my webserver to keep this site at a PG-13 rating. I have no problem with her nudes myself, but some people, especially parents, do. It's important to me that all ages are able to view this site. Please don't ask me to mail you the uncencored nudes- I actually don't even have them because my old computer died with them in it.

Would you send me some Carmen pictures?

Please don't e-mail me asking me to send you random pictures. I get hundreds of e-mails like that and find it very annoying. If you have a very specific need, I might be able to help you. But otherwise, I cannot be sending hundreds of people images. Speak Carmenese already has tons of stuff to download, so I don't think it's mean to tell people no.

Where do you get your material?

95% of the material on this site is stuff that I've scanned or vidcapped myself. I spend a lot of time and money hunting down rare and foreign magazines. I then spend a lot of time improving the images. Lots of these images are originally two-pagers that I've tediously mended together with PaintshopPro. As you can see in the samples below, I often edit out unsightly text and graphics and it's not at all unusual for me to fabricate a missing body part!

The other 5 percent of my material comes from picture swapping channels on IRC, and on the rare occasion- the web. I never take images from other Carmen sites though- I'd rather link to those sites.

Can I use your images for my own site?

I can't stop anyone from taking the images I've scanned, so I won't try. But keep in mind that it's taken a lot of time and money to aquire unique content in order to give the fans something a little different. The more sites that take these images- the less unique Speak Carmenese becomes. In the end, I get frustrated and lose all desire to hunt down cool stuff to share. (That's already happening, unfortunately.) If you feel the need to use them, please e-mail me at speakcarmenese@yahoo.com and let me know. A link to my site would be greatly appreciated as well.

One more thing- As you can see from above, it takes a lot of work to create these images. That's why I feel the need to put a "speakcarmenese.com" logo on them. The logo helps promote Speak Carmenese to people who may not know about it. Please do not remove the logo if you use these images for your site. Again, I can't prevent webmasters from doing whatever they want with my content, but when you request a link on Speak Carmenese, I probably won't give you one.

Will you put a link to my own site in your links section?

E-mail me with your URL and I will look it over. It has to be a genuine fansite and have some kind of unique content or perspective. I don't want to link to big sites that have a gallery devoted to every celeb in existence- they usually aren't good.

Can I buy advertising space on your front page?

Speak Carmenese now uses Google ads- Please go to the adwords website for more information.

Why do you use Quicktime Movies instead of MPEG's?

Basically I haven't been able to find an MPEG editor/converter that does what I need it to do and that I can afford. If someone knows of a good one, please let me know. Quicktime has it's downsides, that's for sure. But it probably annoys the copywrite owners much less that I'm distributing small clips instead of giant ones- so I guess that's good.

How do I save the movie clips to my hard drive?

The best way to save the Quicktime movies is to click on the link and let them fully load- then go back to the page with the link on it, right-click and "save file as". You must add ".mov" to the end of the file on your own- For some reason it's not added automatically.
