2000-2002
Maxim - Dec, 2002
It's taken 5 years, but Carmen is finally on another cover of the US version of Maxim! This issue pays tribute the the Pussycat Dolls, including many of the other dancers. There are three versions of the December cover: this one of Carmen, one of Christina Applegate and one of Christina Aguilera. There aren't as many pictures of Carmen as your average Maxim cover story, because this time it's split three ways. The issue is great though, with tons of pages on the Pussycat Dolls. The photographer of these photos is Dominick Guillemot.
Interview Magazine - Nov, 2002
Carmen is finally cool enough, by Hollywood standards, to appear on the cover of Interview! Carmen and a bunch of the other Pussycats appeared on the cover of the "L.A. Cool" edition. They didn't really have a whole photospread, just the cover and a two-page pic inside. (You can read the interview with Robin Antin in the Pussycats section.) The photos were taken by Sheryl Nields. The names of the other dancers, pictured from left to right in the double-page pic are: Kasey Campbell, Stacy Flood, Carmen Electra, Nadine Ellis, Robin Antin, Cyia Batten and Carmit Bachar (in front of Stacy.)
Stuff - Aug, 2002
Now this just proves what a fantastic Victoria's Sectret model Carmen would make! This shoot was for Stuff magazine though, by photographer Steve Shaw. The staff did a great job making Carmen look so lovely and slightly different than the usual mens mag look. It's also great that they didn't airbrush the bejesus out of her perfectly sculpted face. Entertainment Tonight did a peice on her regarding this photo shoot, which you can see by clicking on the frame. (5.2 MB) The previews showed more footage of her posing and talking about the shoot than the actual piece they aired, which mostly showed the published stills. It's still quite a treat though!
Interviu - Mar 24, 2002
Carmen recently appeared in a Spanish magazine called Interviu. Lots of topless shots in this group, which is somewhat suprizing. One of the pictures from this shoot is now a poster, which makes it seem like this shoot is something Carmen's people put together for her products. The magazine is in spanish, so I couldn't find an obvious photographers credit. Maybe one of Carmen's spanish fans can help us out?? These images have been edited to keep them at a PG-13 rating, and hopefully they don't look too mutated! If you want to see the unedited pictures, the magazine is probably available on eBay.
Loaded - Mar, 2002
Carmen is on the cover of yet another european magazine. These poses are quite familiar, aren't they. This time it's the UK mag, Loaded. As you can see, Loaded was very generous with the images, shot by Jeff Novak. Many of them are quite small though, which is why some of these scans are a bit grainy. Lots of other foreign magazines have run more pictures from this shoot, which you can see at the left. The underwear that Carmen models is by Wonderbra, Elle McPherson, Myla, and Janet Reger.
Movieline - Feb/Mar, 2002
Now, this is the kind of photo shoot that I LOVE to see Carmen do! Could she look any more gorgeous? I don't think so! This was the same photographer that did her latest FHM pics, Isabel Snyder. It's a fashion story called "Peasant Thoughts", where Carmen models gorgeous peasant clothes by Ralph Lauren, Roberto Cavalli, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana and Christian Dior.
Talk - February, 2002
Talk magazine recently polled the Army, Navy, Airforce and Marines to find out who they'd most like to meet. Turns out their top picks were Carmen Electra, Arnold Schwarznegger, and models Molly Simms and Veronica Varekova. Carmen's shoot, with photographer Nicolas Moore, was seperate from the others, and she talked about it a bit.
"One of the sargeants laid down the rules and said no touching and stuff. He didn't need to do that. These guys were much more orderly than my usual fans.""I was sitting on top of this thank in my tiny Versace dress, and all these guys were just standing therer not saying anything, which is not the reaction I usually get. Their seargent said 'You know, they're really nervous, but the freindlier you are, the more they will lighten up.' It turns out they all had my magazines and posters hidden in their pants, and they pulled them out and asked me to autograph them. It was really an honor."
German Maxim - January, 2002
Carmen finally landed another Maxim cover, but not in the US, unfortunately. Plenty of cool pictures are included in this issue, which were shot by "Ranjit". Hopefully they will appear in a more accessible issue soon- because they are way too gorgeous for only one country to see!
JANE - November, 2001
Yipee! Carmen is finally on the cover of a women's magazine! She and Dave Navarro couldn't look more gorgeous in these black and white pictures, shot by Robert Erdmann. There were actually only 2 pictures, but I couldn't resist scanning the tiny spine picci as well as cropping a close-up of Carmen's lovely face. Aren't they the most beautiful happy couple you've ever seen?
Las Vegas - October, 2001
Carmen wears a lot more clothes in Las Vegas Magazine, shot by Fernando Escovar, and she looks very classy. It's a nice change of pace after so many sex kitten photo spreads she's done lately- it reminds me a bit of the Jezabel spread. I'd sure like to see the rest of the photos from this shoot!
FHM UK - July, 2001
Carmen suprized us all when she appeared on the UK version of FHM for the second time in only 10 months. Gorgeous blonde Carmen was shot by photographer Isabel Snyder in LA, back in May. As you can see there were 2 versions of the cover, one that was distributed in the UK and the other as the UK import in the US. The issues were the same except the US import didn't include the poster.
When scans from the issue first reached the net, fans on our message board were quite puzzled about one of the pictures. It appeared that Carmen was wearing a maxi-pad in the photo where she's wearing the "Sunshine" panties. As it turns out, the white rectangle was simply a shape from the other side of the page that showed through! That was quite a relief to know that the world hasn't yet sunk to such a sick level!
Later - January, 2001
This photo shoot was done for the UK magazine Later. The magazine came out in January of 2001, and I assume the shoot was done in September or October of 2000. More photos have surfaced in other foreign publications, and I assume we can expect to see more in the future. As you can see, Carmen is depicted as some sort of action hero, which is a nice change as far as photo shoots go. Photographer, Graham Kuhn did a wonderful job shooting her. Many fans were concerned about the working conditions she was subjected to, however, because she's covered in goosebumps in every shot. In the February issue of Later, some letters from the fans were printed- this is what they had to say:
Please find enclosed my details for you to pass on to Carmen Electra. Whilst flicking through the exciting and thoughtful interview with the lovely lady, I happened to notice the copious goosebumps on her rather pert rear. I hereby offer my heating services so that such an inconvenience may not plague Ms Electra again in the future. Please also find enclosed five quid towards your heating bill. Mark Barnett, Yorkshire
Well done on some cracking pictures of Baywatch babe Carmen Electra. As a long-standing fan of the highly talented and hugely attractive Ms Electra, I was chuffed to see those great shots of her in my favorite magazine. It was a totally inspired theme, what with the Barbarella inspired clothing. But you forgot one thing from the movie (made when Jane Fonda was still sexy rather than over-worked-out, and politically-active harridan): the orgasmatron. I feel that such a glarring omission demands you get Carmen back in to the studio for a new photo shoot. And as for the orgasmatron? Well, I don't come cheap, but may I offer my services? Dave Martin, Chesire
FHM, US Edition - October, 2000
Yipee- Carmen is finally on the cover of an non-obscure magazine! This has to be the best cover shot of Carmen, ever. Wouldn't you agree? It's hard to live up to the cover, but the other shots, taken by photographer Naomi Kaltman, are rather nice as well. Axcess Hollywood aired a nice segment on the production of this shoot, which you can download by clicking the framed image above. (7.8 MBs)
Jane - September, 2000
Carmen is featured in a Jane piece called "The Ultimate Jane Celebrity Makeunders", along with Jenny McCarthy and the WWF star, Chyna. They basically photographed these women with minimal makeup and the results are amazing! I suppose the cropped up shot of her bum is a bonus. Not much was written up, but here is what they said: Yup, it's Carmen Electra, so pretty without the perimeter of dark-brown lip liner.
"Janet Jackson wore dark lip liner in one of her videos and I loved the way it made her lips look so full, so I started wearing this dark-brown lip liner all the time. It was really trendy for a while, but now when I ask makeup artists to do it, most of them say, 'We're not doing that, honey.' "
Movieline - July, 2000
This was not a cover story, but the issue has a very nice Carmen feature that included a full page picture. I can't wait until more of these shots surface in future Movieline magazines (they have a tendency to do that.) I'm very curious to see if the space between her legs is the focal point of the rest of the pictures as well!
Controversy - April/May, 2000
This magazine is kind of hard to find, but it's the first better-known US magazine cover that Carmen has appeared on in a very long time! It shouldn't disappoint either, because it displays all of your favorite assets. What strikes me the most is that she has the exact same make-up and burgundy hair extensions that she appeared in at the American Music Awards. Hmmm....
Jezebel - March, 2000
The March issue of Jezebel is simply marvelous! It is probably the most flattering collection of pics I've seen in a long time.
Carmen was such a natural in front of the camera that photographer Greg Henry was able to finish the entire shoot at a record time of 4 hours. The only thing that strikes me as odd is the cover shot. Has her left hooter always been as large as her entire head?
