Growing up, Carmen had always thought the women in Playboy were very beautiful and sexy, so doing Playboy was a dream come true. One thing she wanted to be sure of, before attempting to sign any kind of deal, was that her mother was ok with it. Thankfully, Carmen's mom said "Go for it!"

Carmen made jaws drop when she first walked into the Playboy offices, seeking a pictorial. Photo editor, Marylin Grabowski, was immediately struck by her beauty, personality and energy, so she signed Carmen up immediately. Veteran photographer, Arny Freytag, was equally impressed: "All I had to do was keep my finger on the button. She started moving this way and that way, and I was like, 'Whoa, this is great!' I shot and I shot and I shot, like, 80 rolls of film. Usually it's only 8 or 10 rolls, but she was good that we kept going until we ran out of film."
