In August of 2000, Carmen fans were thrilled with all the exposure she was getting, due to her success in Scary Movie. She was doing appearance after appearance, and when she went on FOX News on the 23rd, she made her fans even happier! She announced that she'd just completed her shoot for the December issue of Playboy. "I just finnished shooting and I had rheinstones glued all over me- I've been picking them off all day. It is Playboy so of course there are a lot of nude photos, but it's really classy, sort of a Nutcracker theme. It was fun because I got to dress up in a lot of fun costumes, lots of different scenes... a gingerbread house. It was really cute."

Carmen mentions in the magazine that the Nutcracker theme is very appropriate for her: "Every Christmas my mom would take me to see The Nutcracker Suite, and I was so overwhelmed that I took ballet classes. The theme for this shoot is a fantasy for me and has a really sweet element."
